Readings in Islamic Theology

We are hope schedule this program in Spring 2025, likely on four consecutive Wednesdays at 5pm Istanbul time.  If you think you would like to join us, please pre-register so that we know of your interest.

Questions about God’s nature and attributes, creation, revelation, divine sovereignty, human freedom, and human destiny are implicit in many conversations between Christians and Muslims. But many of us know too little about the rich and sophisticated theological heritage of these two traditions or how much they overlap. We often know too little even about the theological heritage of our own faith tradition. This program will introduce major themes in Kalam (Islamic theology), through reading of primary texts.

This will be primarily a discussion-oriented program, focussed around the texts we read together and the questions they raise for us.

Sessions will last 2 hours, and we will end promptly at 7pm Istanbul time. Session recordings will be available to participants following our sessions, but your participation in live Zoom sessions is essential to the success of the program.
